Save species from climate change
Global extinction rates of wildlife are 50,000 times higher than normal. This will be increased by climate change. We need a strong UK Climate Change Bill to help prevent the sixth wave of mass wave of extinction in the history of the world.

Why should you join?
Can you imagine a world without polar bears, tigers, elephants, rhinos, orang-utans, gorillas and dolphins? A third of great apes are highly endangered and others species are already listed as officially endangered. The extra pressure on their survival that comes from climate change may push them to extinction.
Climate change is already damaging the world's ecosystems and is set to cause a global humanitarian and environmental disaster if left unchecked. We need to act and we need to push the UK government to show true leadership if we're to stand any hope of avoiding the worst of climate change. Soaring temperatures from human-induced climate warming could trigger a massive die-off of species, and people will be affected too.
Recent scientific research found a link between higher temperatures and higher extinction rate. The same scientists warn that warming temperatures could trigger a mass extinction event.
The UK can show leadership in tackling global climate change by delivering a strong Climate Change Bill. But as it stands what the government's proposing just won't work. Put simply, the science says we need a target for reducing our carbon emissions that delivers an 80% reduction in UK climate-changing gases by 2050, not the current 60% which is based on old science.
It's also vital that we include carbon emissions from international aviation and shipping, the fastest growing sources of emissions in this target. At the moment, the government plans to exclude these emissions, but this just doesn't make sense.
WWF is going to construct a giant paper boat and giant paper plane and deliver them to the UK parliament to make it clear to MPs that they can't ignore emissions from aviation and shipping. Support us and we will add your name to the boat and plane, and our petition to the Prime Minister, which will be delivered before the final vote on the Bill.
