Why should you join?

If you are concerned about climate change, and want real action instead of more hot air, then we encourage you to get involved and bring your friends, families and enthusiasm. Whether you are old or young, a seasoned protestor or if you've never been to a protest in your life, if you share our passion for climate action, then climate camp is for you!

Whatever your background, there is a role for you. We need people to help with the physical set up of the camp to make it as sustainable and low impact as possible. We need help promoting the camp and spreading the word, facilitating workshops, and we need people to come with their own creative ideas and plans for direct action.

- Join one of the working groups helping to organise different aspects of the camp – logistics, media and networking, first aid and more.
- Invite someone already organising for Climate Camp to come and chat with your group. Contact info(at)climatecamp(dot)org(dot)au
- Come to a climate camp non-violent direct action training being held monthly in capital cities around Australia and in Newcastle.
- Organise a fundraiser for the camp in your area.
- Promote the camp at your events or stalls.
- Create an action team (also known as affinity groups), with your friends or a group you’re already in.
- Come to one of the forums about climate change, coal and direct action being organised in Sydney and regionally.
