Carbon Rations Now

The world's 2,500 top scientists have agreed and the debate is over. Now we need to act. Our planet will survive a radical change in climate, but we may not. Thus, our only guarantee in managing the risk of climate change is to introduce carbon rations that will stop the growth in human produced CO2.

Why should you join?

The debate is officially over. Last year, based on research from over 2,500 scientists, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded that there is a 90 per cent certainty that human actions of burning fossil fuels and cutting down forests are a large part of the problem of our planet heating up.

UN’s secretary-general, Ban Ki-moom, said about the conclusion of the IPPC that, “The world’s scientists have spoken clearly and with one voice. I expect world policymakers to do the same”.

This is bad news for industrial countries hooked on fossil fuels because this means: change! Of cause knowing the inevitable change must come many governments and businesses are hoping this change will come slowly so that economies can keep growing. But how much time do we really have?

No one knows the answer to this question, but the only guaranteed life insurance for us all (and future generations!) is a policy that caps CO2 sooner rather than later. With a 90 percent certainty we need to decarbonise our way of life now, because no one would manage their home, business, or government the way we manage our planet without responsibility. You can gamble with your own life, but don’t gamble with the whole planet.

Thus, we must think as one planet and take responsibility for our actions. A carbon tax will make it hurt and slow down the growth in CO2 emissions, but only a carbon ration that allows each individual, sector, and country a carbon budget will stop the dangerous growth.

If you support this solution - Take action Now:

1. Write your minister today, and demand that carbon rations be put on the agenda.

2. Call the businesses who depend on your money and ask what they are doing to become carbon neutral.

3. Ask yourself (every day) what you can do to reduce your carbon footprint.

And if you are really serious about carbon rationing join or create a CRAG - Carbon Rationing Action Group - today.

For more info on CRAGs google it or in the UK go to: http://www.carbonrationing.org.uk/
