What can I do to help save the planet?
Take a peek around the campaigns. There are many different campaigns covering all sorts of environmental issues, from international whaling to saving local lakes. When you have found one you are interested in, you can help it achieve its goals in many ways:
- Join the campaign to stay up to date with what is happening
- Go along to the events organised by the campaign
- Contact the campaign creator and become a helper
As a campaigner, how can Greenvoice help me?
For campaigners, Greenvoice is a fully functional website in a box. It enables you to:
- Easily manage the life-cycle of your campaign
- Increase exposure of your campaign, raising support and awareness around the world.
- Communicate to your campaign supporters through blogging (online diary), events and campaign information
- Meet people who are doing the same sort of thing, or people who would like to take a more active role in your campaign
How do I use Greenvoice?
- Sign-up to Greenvoice.com and create your profile
- Invite your friends to join your Greenvoice network
- Browse campaigns to find campaigns that meet your interests
- Join a campaign and support it
- Create your own campaign and include a ‘call to action’ in it
- Join a discussion forum and give your views
Is Greenvoice a charity?
No. Greenvoice is a social enterprise, i.e. a limited company whose objective is to change the world for the better while making money for campaigns.
We believe the two are complementary. Greenvoice provides a platform to help individuals and groups of individuals to setup campaigns on environmental issues, but we are not a campaigning organisation or charity. However, it is possible that Greenvoice campaigns will be contributing to charitable organisations.
Is my information secure on the site?
Yes. We use 128-bit SSL encryption when processing any sensitive information, and we don't store any more information than necessary. For example, we do not store your credit card details, nor sensitive information processed by PayPal.
Can I search campaigns by specific criteria, such as location or issue?
Yes, our search engine will allow you to search by many different criteria.
How do I report campaigns that I believe to be inappropriate or otherwise in violation of the Terms of Use?
Each listing has a "Feedback" button which allows you to report potential abuse. Please report any suspicious or inappropriate listings so that we can ensure campaigns are used for the purposes they were intended.
How can you offset the emissions of my computer?
While the CO2 use varies by computer type and user, we have calculated an average of 2 hours per day of home computer use (i.e. not office use) using the linked calculation with estimates from the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Management.
We will then purchase CO2 credits to offset the emissions from your home computer.
How can I spread the word about Greenvoice?
The more people that know about Greenvoice, the more impact campaigns will have and the more people will learn about the importance of taking care of our planet!
